geography:
Rwenzori Mountains, Uganda

On the slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda, a community of small-scale farmers plant their crops. When the conditions are right, the peaks of these mountains resemble luminous lunar crests. Locally, these ancient forms are known as the Mountains of the Moon. In this landscape, coffee plants thrive, putting down roots in red volcanic soil and sprouting branches that stretch toward the clouds. Thanks to a shift toward specialty farming, coffee cherries are meticulously handpicked only when they reach optimal ripeness, bursting with jammy, crimson color. This process requires skill, dedication and perseverance. Brought to life by 95 growers who cultivate and process their crops with passion and commitment, this coffee is a celebration of their efforts and the land’s beauty.
