This is the first time in the U.S. that Starbucks has offered this exceptional coffee, grown by 82 smallholder farmers in the remote town of Dung K’No. Here in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, the K’Ho people, a matriarchal Indigenous community working to preserve cultural traditions, are making waves in the world of arabica coffee. Carefully handpicked cherries are delivered to collection points, where quality is confirmed and farmers are paid cash for their day’s yield. The process ensures that every lot is traceable to the smallholder who produced it, engendering ownership and pride in the farmers. With notes of alpine herbs and graham cracker, this sweet and balanced cup is a distinguished, delicious achievement.
